How does PVP work?
Players who wish to do PVP (Players versus Players) have to note the Club to be added to the Battle Ready list (seen bellow). A unique symbol will also be added next to their name in the Members List on the Club's Deviantart page.
We decided to make PVP optional in case some Players preferred to focus on PVE (Players versus Environnement) alone, meaning participating in Missions, Quests and Events to further the Plot.
Battles are divided in two types ; Duels (battles just for fun) and Challenges (battles over title/property).
Duels may be fought 1vs1, 2vs2, 3vs3, etc. They are designed to be battles for the fun of it, and nothing serious is wagered between the participating Players.
For example, two players could decide to have their characters fight and wager a jar of expensive saké between them (in-character wagers) or they may agree that the loser of the battle has to draw something for ther winner (out-of-character wagers).
To make the Duel official, one of the participating Players has to send a note to the Club with the title "Duel", explaining who is participating, who's fighting who, any special rules and deadlines, and a request for a judge (they may also supply their own judge if they wish). The Club will then verify with every participating Players that they are aware of the Duel and agree with what was written.
Any artworks or written pieces made for the Duel may be submitted to the Club and earn points as if they were regular "Yōkai Life" work. Please note that, despite those battles being "just for fun", you are still expected to picture the characters and events properly (do not give your character powers they do not possess, for example).
Challenges are battles fought over an important "bet", like a territory or title.
To make the Challenge official, one of the participating Player has to send a note to the Club with the title "Challenge", explaining who is participating, who's fighting who, any special rules and deadlines, etc. ''Since those battles influence the Club and Players more directly, they are also more supervised by the Admins/Mods, meaning that strict rules will be issued and the judges will be decided by the Admins/Mods themselves, not the Players. The Club will then verify with every participating Players that they are aware of the Duel and agree with what was written.
Any artworks or written pieces made for the Duel may be submitted to the Club and earn points as if they were regular "Missions/Quests/Events" work.
